Some Really Stupid Stuff!

SOME REALLY STUPID STUFF!
The citizens of the United States of America are facing some really historic times because the current regime in the White House is forcing on us policies and programs we do not want. I write a lot about “health care”, and some of you may wonder what the following has to do with the subject. Stay tuned because just about everything the socialists in the White House do is about controlling our lives and limiting our freedoms so they have all the power. They have used “health care” as the base vehicle for their obfuscation of reality. It is my belief they will fail in their efforts, but they are leaving a lot of filth for us to clean up after they are kicked out of office via the ballot box.

Let’s begin with the idea that big government can do a better job managing our lives than we can if we are left alone. This is the basic belief of socialists, communists, liberals, or progressives (pick a name for them) currently in the White House. The STUPIDITY of this concept is that in the history of the world, this philosophy has never worked in any country or society where it has been tried. The characteristics of this thinking are higher individual and corporate taxes, an economy that can never prosper, and the deterioration of all freedoms. We have only to look at Europe which has tried socialism for the last fifty years with less and less prosperity and no positives what so ever. Now Europe is beginning to reverse socialism so they can move to smaller government, lower taxes and increased prosperity.

Because politicians pander to “tree hugging” environmentalists the citizens of this country must pay higher and higher gasoline taxes. The argument they present is “to protect our environment”. Currently there is a huge oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico being used as an argument for no more drilling. I will admit the oil spill is adversely affecting tourism and by extension the economy of the coastal areas, but these will soon be back to normal. The terrible news media is not telling us everything and instead concentrates on the negative only so as to further the agenda coming from the White House. The truth is the amount of oil spilled into the Gulf as a whole is about equal to a thimbleful of oil in a bathtub. Already the recovery people are having a hard time finding oil to clean up because nature is already cleaning it up and has eliminated much of the spill. The fear tactics coming from the news media and the White House are temporarily keeping us from harvesting our own oil and the results are really devastating and almost criminal.

Because we are kept from drilling for oil here in the United States primarily because of societal concerns we have to buy oil from the Middle East, Russia, Venezuela, Mexico and other places around the world who are all socialists. This is economically stupid because all of that money is leaving our shores when we need jobs here in the US of A and we are paying higher gasoline prices than need be. I do not remember the exact numbers, but only 50% of a barrel of oil goes to making gasoline. The rest of that barrel of oil is used making plastics and materials that make our lives better. The syringes used in the medical profession to administer drugs and fluids to people in need, are all made of plastic. Many car parts are made of plastic and all of these items cost us more because the STUPID people in our society don’t want us to drill for our own oil. How silly is it to allow Spain, Mexico and Russia to drill for oil just off our precious shores free of regulations while our own people CANNOT drill because “they might damage the environment”. Personally I resent the rest of the world laughing at us because a few in our society are really and truly ignorant. Just so there is no misunderstanding, I am referring to politicians, new media, pea-brained voters and environmentalists.

I much prefer to write about health care, but we will never be able to attack that issue until we take back our country and freedoms from the abysmal mess in Washington DC.
